Did you know what plarn was before reading this blog post? If you didn’t don’t worry, I just recently learn that word myself! To sum it up plarn is basically yarn made out of plastic!
I like the idea of making yarn out of plastic bags and creating something new so the plastic doesn’t go to waste!
What to make with plarn?

Materials you need
- plastic bags
- scissors
NOTE: You will need a lot of plastic bags to complete a project like a bag or floor matt. I recommend getting them from friends and family that want to get rid of their stored plastic bags.
How to make it!
Flatten your bag, fold in half lengthwise, cut the end of the bag and the handle part.
Fold in half two more times then cut pieces about 1 inch.
knot the loops together to form strand. You can link them as you go or form a long strand at once.
