I recently started to be more conscious about the plastic we use daily from different products, and I decided to start taking small steps to reduce the amount of plastic from my daily life. I thought the Terra Produce Bag was perfect for that! Take it on your trip to the grocery store and eliminate the plastic bags that you use for your produce!

What you will need for this pattern:
- One skein of cotton yarn, I used Lion Brand’s 24/7 cotton, or comfy cotton
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
- 5.5 mm hook
Crochet Terms:
- CH-chain
- HDC-half double crochet
- DC- double crochet
- SS- slip stitch
- STS- Stitches
- ST- stitches
- SK- skip
Notes:
- Chain 3 and chain 5 do count as a stitch.
- To make this bag in other sizes chain multiples of 6 + 5 for the width and add more rows for the lenght.
- This bag is made of two panels stitched together
Skill Level:
Advanced
Finished Size. 8×8
Pattern:
Chain 35 ( first panel)
Row 1: DC on fourth chain from the hook, 1 DC on the next chain, *CH 3, SK 3 chains, 1 DC in the next 3 chains*. Repeat from *to* until the end of the row.
Row 2: CH 5, turn. Make 3 DC on the first CH 3 space,* CH 3, Make 3 DC on the next CH 3 Space*. Repeat from * to * 3 more times. CH 2, 1 DC on the last CH 3.
Row 3: CH 3, turn. Make 2 DC on the first CH 2 space,* CH 3, make 3 DC on the next CH 3 space*, Repeat from * to * 3 more times. CH 3, 2 DC on the last CH 2 space, 1 DC on the last CH 3.
Rows 4-12 repeat rows 2 and 3 in that order.
Row 13: HDC on every ST across including the CH 3 spaces.
Row 14: CH 3, SK 2 ST, 1 HDC on next ST, *CH 1, SK 1 ST, 1 HDC on next ST*. Repeat from * to * until the end of the row.
Tie off and make a second panel with the same pattern as the first panel.
Construction:
Place one panel on top of the other with the right sides together.
Slip stitch or whip stitch your Terra Bag starting on one corner and going around it leaving the top open. Turn inside out and weave in ends.
Cord:
Chain 105 and insert the chain in between the wholes of the top of your bag and you are done!
