Today I’m going to teach you how to crochet the drunken granny stitch. This stitch looks a lot more complicated than what it actually is, you only need to know chains and double crochet, so I think even beginners can accomplish this stitch!
I used this stitch to make a headband and cowl, but you can use it to for other projects like blankets, garments, and more.

- stitch is reversible, so it looks great on both sides
- multiples of 5 plus 4
Materials
- I used a 5.5 mm crochet hook for this pattern
- worsted weight yarn ( I used lion brands cobblestone)
- scissors

- ch-chain
- dc- Double crochet
- sts- stitches
- sp- space
Notes
- Chain 3 counts as a double crochet
- always end the row with a double crochet on top of the chain 3 of previous round.
Pattern
Chain 19 ( This is a perfect width for a headband)
Row 1: (Make 3 dc on 6th chain from the hook, ch 2, 1 dc all into the same ch) *sk 4 ch, (3 dc on next ch, ch 2, 1 dc all into the same ch*) Repeat from * to * until you have 3 ch left at the end of the row. sk 2, 1 dc in the last ch. ch 3 turn
Row 2: *( 3 dc, ch 2, 1 dc all into the ch 2 sp)* repeat from *to * into each ch 2 sp. Finish the row with a dc on the ch 3 of previous row.
Repeat row 2: until you have your desired length for your project.
