Hi friends! Today I have this simple crochet Christmas ornament tutorial for you guys! I love the way this turned out; it gives my tree a modern touch!
I wanted to change the style of some of my old ornaments I had leftover from last year so, I got to work and came up with this simple and modern design! You can also use polyfill if you don’t have extra ornaments laying around!

Stitches used
- hdc- half double crochet
- blo-back loop only
- magic ring
Materials
- worsted weight yarn
- 5.5 mm crochet hook
- ornament or poly fill
- stitch marker
- scissors
- yarn needle
Notes
- The ornaments I used were from the Dollar Tree. I will leave a link here so you can compare the sizes.
- we will be working in continuous rounds, there will be no slip stitching at the end of the round.

Pattern
(Large)
Make a magic circle
Round 1. Make 10 hdc into magic circle.(10 sts)
Round 2. Increase on blo in every stitch around. (20 sts)
Round 3. Hdc blo in every stitch around. (20 sts)
Rounds 4-7 repeat round 3
Place your ornament inside after round 7.
Round 8. *Hdc, sk 1 st, hdc* in next repeat from *to* until the end of the round.
Fasten of and weave the ends.
(small)
Make a magic circle
Round 1. Make 8 hdc into magic circle.(8 sts)
Round 2. Increase on blo in every stitch around. (16 sts)
Round 3. Hdc blo in every stitch around. (16 sts)
Rounds 4-5 repeat round 3
place your ornament inside at this point, or fill with stuffing.
Round 6. *Hdc, sk 1 st, hdc* in next repeat from *to* until the end of the round.
Fasten of and weave the ends.
Ornament with poly-fil
pattern is the same as previous instructions.
For large ornament fill at the end of row 7 then continue with row 8.
For small ornament fill at the end of row 6 then continue with row 7.
